black and white and glasses
They're all very cute, but my favorites are the ones that are just a solid color or have a large graphic pattern. I think they let the unique shape show through, and the solid/graphic tones down the girliness of the gathers and kicky sleeves. So.. I guess I'll ditch the green/white polka dot idea, but I have a really cute white cotton with larger blue bubblies that would work great in the tunic shape.
design of gas station signs
Whenever I need gas in the morning, I manage to autopilot myself past the cheap station and always remember 30 seconds too late. I just realized today that every time I've snapped out of it, I've been looking right at the shiny bright orange 76 station ball.

yamamoto jacket - the end
Everyone I asked mentioned that the jacket was probably not very flattering. S suggested testing it out on a doll, and the trace paper model I made happened to be Blythe's size, so I did.

sloppy sewing, photo taken in terrible lighting
Very cute on her. Interesting draping across the back. Probably not cute on me, so I won't be making it for myself. But now that I've made a teeny one, it is out of my system and I can stop thinking about it.
yamamoto jacket
I am tempted to make the Yamamoto "enigmatic" pattern that I saw via the Craft blog. It looks like it would be a good cozy layer to throw on at the office, maybe in a dark neutral for maximum matching and number-of-wears-before-washing capabilities.
The pattern is missing a whole lot of markings and has minimal instructions, but I think I figured the thing out last night with scraps of trace paper. Hint: start with what are obviously the sleeves, and take a good look at the back view in the sample photo. Also, the front piece needs to be folded in half. It is very ingeniously designed. And it is only 2 pattern pieces! (Unlike the crazy Galliano pirate jacket on the same site that is made up of a zillion teeny pieces.)

The only thing is .. this can't be one-size-fits-all, can it? How do you adjust a wacky pattern like that? Also, the only really fitted part looks like the lower back, and maybe only skinny tall people will look good in something that makes the top half of your arms disappear ...
korea
Spent two weeks there. Came back with peektures of lots of food.
Street food is the best. Sadly not many photos of that. But there are some drawrings:
Of work "uniforms". All lady skirts end exactly at the knee. Also, no bright colors allowed.

Of a fancy traditional dinner with musical accompaniment

Of lady selling kimbap at subway station.

Celebrity moment: I was 2 feet away from the Coffee Prince actress for 5 seconds. She looked exactly like this but without the weird gold glow from the stockings.
