blythe blythe blythe
Yay for Christmas! And Steve!
I now have a Madamoiselle Rosebud. She comes with all sorts of cool trinkets in such a nice neat package.
I already want to try doing some minor mods -- do a little sanding to make her face matte and put on new makeup (less bright blush, slightly darker lips). Maybe if I get brave enough one day, I'll change her eye colors too.
Definitely want to try making some doll clothes from the Japanese doll books and magazines I have. They have the cutest sets in there. Then maybe I'll branch out into making my own outfits. The fun of Blythe is that you can make all sorts of wacky stuff and it looks great, because her head and eyes are so disproportionately huge. And also because she's always photographed in super-saturated lomo-esque colors.
basil roots
I've tried to root basil before, but this is the first time it's worked so well.
I tried the same thing I did with the chocolate mint (now growing happily in a pot). Cut the stem right below a branch, cleared the leaves off the bottom, stuck it in some water, put it in a sunny window, and pretty much forgot about it. I think I changed the water once or twice.
I should've pinched the flowers once they started growing though. I chopped them off today .. hope it doesn't die. If the basil keeps going strong, I'll stick it in a pot.
On other projects... black party dress went quite well and it's all done. I'll write it up sometime and take better pictures. I also made fabric covered buttons for the bustier, and made the button holes. When I get around to attaching the buttons, I'll take pictures and post. There are random other xmas-related projects going on too, but no pictures until after they're given away :)
